I will start by saying that physicians only treat but God is who heals. Many people ignore the important and Strong connection between health and spirituality. It is very apparent that spirituality influences quality of health of an individual.

One of the main defects of world health organization definition of health is the exclusion of the spirituality aspect in an individual as part of one’s well-being. Illness and health-threatening events always lead to people questioning the purpose and meaning of life which touches on our very root of existence. The public health communities and organizations are beginning to realize and understand the important role of spiritual care in the enhancement of a quality health and healthcare.

Spirituality can be defined simply as sensitivity to religion and other core values that make a person or an individual gain;

Yes, I agree that we are in the age of great technological advancement but spirituality is very important and relevant altogether. It involves serving the whole individual; emotional, physical and spiritual aspects. It may also involve; be holding patients hands, talking to them about matters that they value and also spending time with them. Patients really value such simple acts. Research has it that religious practices support and promotes health. Spiritual care is interdisciplinary which involves pastors, chaplains, and imams.
